Sweet 16...Weeks!

Sage turned 16 weeks yesterday!!

Crazy to think that 16 weeks ago she was just born. The time seems to fly faster these days.. I wish they would slow down, just a bit. I enjoy her so much and sometimes I feel like I am losing time with my baby girl - How can that be?, I spend every waking moment with her ;)

She is looking so much older these days (not the baby we brought home at all)
Her cry is different, not that newborn cry anymore.(I hope I never forget that cry)
She fills up that bassinet, when before she looked so tiny laying in it.
She is getting a personality - she plays this game while I am rocking her - she will talk to me and I talk back and she smiles and she will tuck her head (it's her shy girl game) and it is so funny.

I am enjoying her and all of her new changes.

Happy Sweet 16 weeks Sage Elizabeth!! xo

What a week.....

It has been one busy week...with Celebrating Jason's birthday, looking for daycare and trying to get everything done before I return to work...it feels like we have been running for months...

Monday - Wednesday we spent our days calling daycares and nannies...I think we have found one that really works for us, but I have a few more questions.

We met Uncle Justin (who's birthday was also Thursday) Tia Teresa, and Stashia to help shop for the nursery decorations...we did a great job. We found everyting in one store!
Then J, Sage and I went to eat and shopping for Sage...lol - I had wanted a few outfits for Sage and well I finally got them here are a couple

Thursday was Jason's birthday...Sage and I had lunch in Long Beach with Zoe and Grayson while J was at work. We had a good day, we were so late with the traffic and feel so badly that Zoe and Grayson had to wait for us, but we had a good time, once we got there.  The drive home was another story...we left around 2ish and got home around 5:30 :( Sage had a meltdown on the way home (only 20 minutes from home) and nothing was consoling her..but we stopped and played for about an hour until she was in a better mood for the 20 minutes left of the drive...lol

We made it though, and J and I  celebrated by eating out at the Yardhouse and a bit of shopping, while Auntie Missy watched Sage for us :)

Then Friday, J got his new Iphone for his birthday, he is loving it as much as I am!
While we were out we decided to go look for bigger beds...we ended up hitting a sale and voila a new bed.
Sage had a giftcard still from a good friend so we went and got her a new toy, her exersaucer...with her always wanting to push up standing, we are sure she is going to love this.

It has been busy week, but a great one at that!

And one milestone today....

We have been searching for daycare for Sage closer to us, since I am going to be working closer to home now...no luck so far, so the search continues. Hopefully we get lucky and something comes up that is perfect for us.

So this evening while getting Sage ready for her bath, we were playing with Stashia (our niece) and she was giggling, and dancing and then I put her on her tummy for some tummy time....she was holding that head steady for a long time!! Then she started to flip over, and got to her side, and just as Jason came to see what was going on she turned to her back!!!

She was tired after that, but we were so excited...we tried again, but she just fussed...and was ready for her bath.

We will try to capture it on video tomorrow.

Baby Baby.....

We had a lazy morning today...we had got home late last night from visiting Tia Teresa and Uncle Justin and we took time to rest up.

At 12:30 AM Sage's baby cousin Justin William Fleck arrived weighing in at 5lbs 3 oz. and was 18" long...he and Tia Teresa are doing great! He is the cutest little guy, and we are anxiously awaiting their arrival home :)

Been a busy week and it has finally wrapped up...I had thought I was returning to work tomorrow...We had daycare all lined up and things were a "Go" till Friday afternoon, I was asked why I wasn't returning to my original project to pack up...I had been told I was needed elsewhere but then things soon changed...I got emails Saturday that I was needed closer to home, which is good (I didn't want Sage in all that LA traffic anyway) but now we have to find another daycare and tell the one we love that we aren't going to be coming that way for a while. :(
We finally had found someone we all liked and now we have to start the process over again, but then that means more time off with Sage to look - so that isn't all that bad, now is it? ;)

Sage is finally outgrowing her 0-3 month clothes and is in 3-6 month clothes. She is growing so fast!!!

Mamaw Jan bought her this pink outfit                                for her 3 month birthday and it looked huge at the time, well still does...but I thought we would try it on, since nothing else seemed to fit her long legs anymore...and IT FIT!!  I was happy and sad at the same time...I had just looked through her newborn pictures and was packing her newborn things that were neutral colors for her cousin Justin and couldn't believe she was once that size!!
I remember like it was yesterday that tiny girl that we welcomed to the world.

She is growing more and more beautiful by the day.

Busy Busy Week...

Wow...I haven't posted in a while...but we have been having fun with Miss Sage and keeping busy.

We had a good week, we had dinner with our good friend Al in Seal Beach and we had a fun St. Patricks day!

We have been busy trying to help Justin and Teresa (my brother & sister in law) prepare to bring baby Justin home...We were going to have a baby shower next weekend for them, but Baby Justin decided he wanted to come to the party too...Teresa's water broke Wednesday night and now they are monitoring them both...everyone is doing well, but they are trying to keep the baby from coming for a nother week. (34 week mark)
So please keep them in your prayers to keep Mom and baby safe and sound.

This has also been my last week at home with Sage :( so we have been having a lot of 1 on 1 time :)
I start back to work on Monday. I haven't been told where..so we may stay here and help pack my old job up (that means I would have to take Sage too) Not a bad idea if you ask me...lol
We shall see.

Here are some pictures from our week.

We are in Long Beach :)

Well Sage and I arrived in Long Beach yesterday afternoon for the Fred Hall Show. Jason & Mamaw Jan are working at the show and we are visiting.

Since I used to live in Long Beach, it is always fun to come back to visit...I miss it here. J and I eventually want to be in a Beach community - we haven't decided where...but we both love the Ocean and know Sage will too.

I was a bit worried that Sage would not sleep well in the Hotel....well was I WRONG!
This girl loves it here...either we are moving in or taking the beds with us..lol
She slept 7 hours in her Rock and Play and then another 2 hours with me in bed...and then ate and slept for another 3 and then took a nap (on her own) while laying on the bed playing with J.

Today - Sage and I had a mommy/baby play date (it was a terrific day...sun was gorgeous and it was 77 degrees!!)... We met up with Chandra & Elouise and Zoe & Grayson  at the Aquarium of the Pacific...it was a great time. We had mommy talks and got to visit with the babies (all born within a week of each other) and they were all soo good and they are all so beautiful. Was nice to get out of the house and have adult time and chat with the ladies that are going through some of your same experiences! Can't wait to do it again.

Here are pictures from today:

And then our walk back to the hotel :)

3 Month Birthday Party!

March 4 - Your 3 months old!!!

Mamaw Jan has you a party for every month so far....we had a great time at your 2 month (which I will post another day) and this was even better.

We drove to Orange Co. and the weather was gorgeous high 70's and bright sunshine!

Auntie Ellen and Michelle got to Mamaw Jans and made you a beautiful cake

We all had a great visit and dinner - Mamaw Jan is a great cook!

Auntie Ellen

It is always a special time spent with grandparents and we are so thankful to have Mamaw Jan and Grandpa Mike as family. We wish that Mama and Papaw could be here to from WV to help celebrate your milestones, but we are there and they are here in our hearts.

With Mamaw Jan and Auntie Michelle

You are getting so big and you are changing so much every day! We all love you so much baby girl! You are beautiful!

And Willie loves it when you come visit...he watches you and loves all of your things that we bring...if he could only make bottles and change your diaper we would have a built in baby sitter ;)

Happy 3 Months Sage Elizabeth! xo

The day is coming....

Well the day is coming for me to go back to work :(....I am so not looking forward to this day. I have broke down a few times already and it's not even time yet.

I will be returning to work on the 14th, unless I can talk them into letting me stay off longer?...wishful thinking
I mean they really haven't given me a project as to where I will be returning to yet...

I have found a daycare, and J and I will visit it again this Friday...I don't know if I will ever trust someone outside of family to watch Sage, but this is something that has to be done.

If I go back to work at our main office, I will be traveling a little over an hour every day to work (depending on traffic) and I want her close to me if anything happens I can rush to her....of course she is going to be a hop skip and a jump away from Grandma Jan....and hopefully she can check on her from time to time.
That is the only comforting factor in this situation.

I am hoping Friday will give me some reassurance that I am needing....I will be asking for the references she has offered to me, and we will get to sit down with her more than I got to at my first visit...at the first visit Grandma Jan and I went with Sage and it was during the hours of daycare, she showed us around and was very sweet.

I am hoping my "Mommy Instinct" really kicks in at the next visit.

Growing, Growing & Growing....

Sweet Baby Sage,

You are growing up so fast....

You started drinking 5 oz. every 3 hours today!!!

You hold that head up like a pro and you love it when Daddy lets you stand on his lap...you keep pushing up to see how far you can get.

You are so alert and watch things intensely (you have done this since we brought you home) but now you are doing it for longer periods of time. It is funny to see what catches your eye ;) Mosty now it is the ceiling fan in the living room and your mobile in your crib

You are getting so long....once upon a time we had to roll your pants up on your clothes, and now we find it hard to find a pair of pants to fit those long legs of yours.

2 Days Old - Rolled up pants - I bought the same outfit for you in 3 months and it comes to your knees...lol

You are getting so long for your pillow Mamaw and Papaw got you once you were a tiny tiny baby on there, now you are getting to be a big girl

Your cry is far from that "newborn" cry you once had.

You talk non-stop usually (not today though, you have been really tired)

I love to hear you giggle in your sleep, but now you are starting to giggle when you are awake....it is very contagious (just ask your Daddy -  Mamaw & Papaw & Grandma Jan)

You are almost too big to swaddle....you keep kicking Momma's swaddle job apart...lol

You are pushing your bedtime back even further on your own....you were once at 7 PM now it's more like 8-9 - now if you will still sleep for 9 or more hours ;) - (yea I think you are outgrowing that too and sleeping less)...lol - However you still love to be sung "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"

I hate seeing you grow so fast, but you are growing into an even more wonderful little girl that you already were.  I love you sooooo much! You are definitely a "Momma's Girl"
