Here Comes Peter Cotton Tail....

It was Sage's first Easter!!

And she had a great one!

I had wanted to go to church and had looked them up in the area to attend...but we were all so worn out from the day before and Sage slept most of the morning, so we just stayed home and got ready for the day. We will eventually get there :)

So after napping all morning, she got her Easter Basket around 10 AM  - She did well for pictures but the actual opening of the basket she could have cared less....lol - Next year will be better I am sure.
After photos and the basket, we were all ready and headed to Mamaw Jan and Grandpaw Mikes...we stopped at Auntie Missy's on the way (Auntie Missy had a basket for her full of rattles, couldn't have been more perfect)

....then we went on to Mission Viejo...traffic was quite the terror, but we made it just in time to see, Auntie Ellen

It was also Auntie Ellen's Birthday, so we had to see her and give her a birthday present :)

We had a great time visiting with our family there. Mamaw Jan said it reminded her of her days going to grandma's house, and I feel the same. Just a relaxing day with loved ones, and great food - those make the best memories.

Here are some of our pictures from the day - Hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

Happy First Easter Sage Elizabeth - We Love you so much

Long week, and Long blog.....

Well it has been a better week....new babysitter ....Sage loves it there and it seems they love having her there...so everything happens for a reason and this was ours :)

We switched Sage's formula, she was on Similac Advance, and was starting to spit up and has always been gassy...so we are trying Similac Sensitive and so far so good...hopefully this will settle her tummy.

I have had a few interviews for a position up North...we were all set and ready for the big move if things went well...now we are debating it all, everyone keeps questioning if this position is the right move for me...not that I can't handle it, just that it is different than what I do now, and will I be happy in it, kind of questioning....so now my gut has done flip flops of feelings and we are not 100% sure of it. Maybe it is because I absolutely hate change and moving...lol - either way we are going to have to move eventually, so that isn't the problem...and the change well that isn't that great...the biggest change I have had was moving from WV to Cal after a weeks vacation and deciding I wasn't going back to snow...and I am still here :)

But after all of that during the week...Easter is almost here!! Time seems to fly anymore...
We took Sage to see the Easter Bunny yesterday (in her new Sailor Dress her Aunt Donna bought her)

....surprisingly there wasn't a line, and well she was a perfect angel...seemed to be a bit bored with it though, she was ready to shop...See photo

It was like we made her do something only a "child" would do...lol - such a Diva she is

So after the bunny, we did a little shopping :)

We bought Auntie Ellen her birthday present and we hope she loves it :)

Happy Easter to us -  we decided that we needed to upgrade our computer at home....so we stumbled into the Apple Store - J and I have both been wanting a MAC for a long time, and we decided that today was the day - and what a glorious event that was...we are now proud users of the MacBook Pro - so far so good :)
After a long 6 months with a Toshiba that was never functioning correctly - this one seems to fit all of our needs and so far the screen hasn't went completely black so it's already off to a great beginning :)

J and Sage waiting in the Apple Store

Mama Jan comes tomorrow to watch Sage Monday and Tuesday - Our sitter is at Disney Land for a few days with her 3 girls...(fun fun) We are looking forward to having her here :)

And then it will be Easter before we know it and we will be back at Mamaw Jans!

Enjoy your week everyone!

We Love you Sage Elizabeth xo

Hoping this week is better than the last .....

Well....
What we thought was going to be a good week, turned out quite the opposite.
Sage's sitter quit on Friday, after only having her for a total of 3 half days (not even a full day all week) I had mixed feelings from the start (mothers intuition) but Jason reassured me it was just me being over protective and that it would be fine. After ever meeting with this individual (total of 4 times) she always forgot to tell us something. The first time, she forgot to mention she had a roommate along with her husband and daugther in the house, so we went back to meet the roommate. Then she called after that meeting to see if she could drive with Sage....I wasn't too thrilled with that question, but she said it was only for emergencies only.

This person had been a nanny for over 7 years and for a family with a 3 year old and twins at the time, then multiple families with other children. We checked all the references and all was great.

I put aside my doubts, thinking it was first time mom going back to work jitters and we went for it.
The first day went great, she texted and sent me pictures.
Tuesday - Sage had a Dr. appt and had shots, so Jason kept her the rest of the day. That day in the Dr. office the caregiver called to tell us she was sick and to find other care on Wednesday.
Wednesday - Jason had her all day and came to see me at lunch :)
Thursday - Caregiver had her from 6:30 - 3 - I got texts about how great she was doing with the transition and all about her day and a picture.
Friday - Caregiver had her from 6:30-2 - I got texts that she was great up till 10 and then she was gassy and was fussy from 10-12 but was fine because her little girl was sleeping. (No picture)
Jason picks her up and the caregiver just blurts out I can't watch Sage anymore....not telling me anything, no meeting us together later that day or the next. Just I can't watch her, she is taking too much time from me and my little girl. - While I understand her reason, maybe she should have tried watching a friends child a few days instead of having a family be her trial run. - Or if she was really sick, maybe she should have given it another week to see if she felt better? - I have ran it all through my head, but everything happens for a reason and I am sure for a better one. All I know is if 3 half days was too much, I would have hated Sage to have been there a full day.

I was mad at first and wanted to be mad at her, but simply texted her I heard things didn't work and I wished them the best. She offered to watch Sage till we had time to find a new place, but now I couldn't trust her with my baby, so the search was on.

It was a rough week - trusting someone with my baby girl, going back to work after 4 months off, and then this happening. I wonder how I will trust another with my baby girl.

We had a few interviews this weekend and well we think we have found the one
Sage will start there tomorrow :) We are looking forward to this new transition and pray that it is a great one for us all!

Here is miss Sage today - waking up, her new toy to love on, and trying out her high chair (for when we are ready for solids, that day is getting close ;) )

Good Morning

I think there are teeth trying to come in

Looking forward to a new and better week ~wish us luck!

Today was...

Sage's 4 month Birthday!! We celebrated yesterday with family here in Cali, but today baby girl is 4 months old!! Tomorrow we have a Dr. appt, so we will have all of the latest measurements to post then :)

Today was my first day back to work since Dec. 3rd....4 months off, and I felt like I was starting all over again. Everyone was very welcoming for my return and was nice to slowly ease into the day and new project.

The day started out sadly, I was dreading getting ready and taking Sage to her new sitters house. We all love Nicole, Bryan, and baby Kate....but letting our baby girl go was a very hard thing to do. We all got ready and headed to Nicole's house. We sat with Sage for a few minutes and talked about her schedule, and then it was time for me to go to work :( I cried all the way out the door and to my car. J and I decided to go to Starbucks to unwind a bit before hitting the freeways to work. I cried a little there, and that was my last breakdown of the day :) I did surprisingly well!!

Sage had a great day, better than me I am sure...Nicole texted and sent me pictures to assure me things were going well with my baby girl. She had a report in her notebook today that said she was "Happy" all day :) that is what mommy wants to hear. Here is the picture of her at Nicoles house....this makes me feel so good about her being away from me, if she has to.

J picked her up early and put her to sleep while I was on my way home...she slept for over 3 hours, before I had to wake her...we know she will hardly sleep tonight now after that long nap.

I am so glad we both had a great day!

4 Month Birthday Party!

Well Miss Sage will be 4 Months old tomorrow!!!!  - Wow, seems like yesterday we brought her home.

We had a great day at Mamaw Jan's - we had Sage's 4 month birthday party a day early...so everyone could be there and well, I start work tomorrow :( but we aren't going to think about that, because it kilss me to.

So instead we are going to talk about the party and great time we had today.

We got to Mamaw Jan's pretty early, and Jason and Mamaw Jan made a Crepe Suzette for Sage's birthday cake! Auntie Michelle & Auntie Ellen came to visit and party with us :) We all had a great time visiting and enjoying a extraordinary dinner (Salad, Lamb chops, scalloped potatoes, green beans, and homemade sourdough bread) Everything was so, so, so good...we all ate way too much :)

We wish we lived closer to Mamaw Jan and to Mama and Papa Smith as well. But we are lucky to have them all as family no matter how near or far they all our at the moment. Lucky for Sage she gets to visit so many different places.

Here are some pictures of the day!

Tomorrow is your actual 4 month Birthday! & Your first day at your babysitter's - I hope you and I both have a great day. I will miss you more than you will ever know!!
