Our weekends are our down time, but in the same time I want to get out and do things....


Last weekend we were at Mamaw Jan's house....having family time. 

This weekend we were going to go back, but this Mom needed some time at home. The few hours at night during the week, just don't cut it. 
We finally got Papa's belated birthday gift finished...we tried once and it didn't turn out...soooo yesterday we tried again..

Sage is teething and fussing non-stop, so it's probably best that we are home..she has all of her toys here and can't rest better.

Next weekend Jason will be home and we can have lots of fun family time, we can't wait!


Then next month my family (parents and mama) come for 10 days...fun fun.

4th of July and 7 Months Old!

Well we hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July....sorry we are late (really late) posting...been really busy since J left. 


Sage turned 7 Months old on July 4th 
She is still rolling, sitting really well, and only has the 2 teeth still....she loves to scream (really loud screeching at times) but she is always in a great mood doing it....hopefully soon she will learn her inside voice...it is starting to scare others...lol 

She was all about funny faces that day 

We didn't do much but lay around and cook in for our 4th but it is always nice being together as a family  :)

Fathers Day!

It was Jason's 1st Fathers Day....


but Jason wasn't here to celebrate with us :(


We stayed with Mamaw Jan for the weekend....and met Jason Monday morning at the dock with his gifts....I am pretty sure he was excited to see us, as we were to see him. He loved his gifts :)


We miss him so much...He is the best father and husband anyone could ask for, can't wait till Monday to have him home for a little while.

6 month photo shoot

Well it has been 6 months, and we haven't had pictures done in a while. 
Sage had her newborn photos done when she was 9 days old, then we had pictures taken in WV when she was 2 months (but we were all sick, but Sage), then we had our family pictures taken when she was 4 months (Easter pictures), and now it is time for 6 MONTHS!


In all of those photo shoots - we managed to skip 3 months?...leave it to me, but hey looks like we have every other month covered ;)
And it wasn't like I didn't take a million photos of my own since little Sage has been born :) 


Our babysitter Jessica dabbles with photography and she did pictures for me for my mothers day gift - and she did these for Sages 6 Months :) She does a WONDERFUL job!!

Sage is 6 Months!!!

Half a year has gone by already?!?

It was a watermelon kind of day, with her dress from Great Grandma Shirley, watermelon for dinner... to Watermelon in a teething feeder


Seems like yesterday we were just finding out we were having a baby girl, and now our baby girl is growing up! 


We celebrated at Mamaw Jan's with appetizers, sangria and dinner (BBQ Chicken, Corn on the Cob, Spicy Cole Slaw, watermelon, and potato salad) and finished with Birthday Cake & Jungle Junction Cookies

Ahhhh I got it! 

Did everyone see?...I did it, it was so fun!

Sage got gifts (more than usual this time)
Auntie Ellen got her some really cute onesies and bibs

Auntie Michelle got her a really cute cupcake outfit

and Mamaw Jan and Papaw Mike got her a DVD player for the car and a DVD!!! (that will be a great thing for our long trips we take) 


We want to give them a huge "Thank You" for everything they do for Sage


Was a great time...was too cool to get in the pool this trip :( but we managed and had a great time inside. 


Hard to believe that Miss Sage is 6 months old! 


She is now 16 lbs, 27 1/4" long and doing great (she did have her first cold, turn into bronchitis this week) but she is doing great...without that nasty cough you wouldn't even know she is sick...she is still a happy baby, eating and sleeping just fine. 
She can sit for short periods of time, but is great at rolling and screaming :) 


We love you Sage Elizabeth and we are looking forward to watching you grow more in the next 6 months!!

Memorial Weekend

We have been so busy, but we are finally getting caught up to blog.....


Starting on the 27th was my Mother and Mama Sharon's birthday :) and that day Sage got her first two teeth!!! Was a big day! 

We went to Palm Springs for Memorial Weekend - Celebrated our long weekend and our 1 year Anniversary! Was a great time away. 


We stayed at the La Quinta Resort 
we dined at Twenty Six the night we arrived - the dinner was really good, usually I pick the better meal off the menu, but this time J did..lol - he had Hanger Steak and tots and it was yummy! 


The next morning we had a quick bite to eat and then spent the day pool side in the cabana was nice to relax and people watch as well. 

That night we had dinner at Morgans - that by far has been the best restaurant we have been to in a while. Our steaks were tender enough to cut with a fork and the Cakebread went nicely with our meal, the only thing we wished we would have saved room for dessert. 

The next morning we were woken by maintenance workers at 6 AM (wayyyy too early) J complained at checkout and we had some of our stay comped. So that was nice. We packed up and headed out to the outlets before heading home. 


Little did we know we are only 40 minutes away from Palm Springs.....we will be going again soon, I am sure.

A New Routine.....

J and Mamaw Jan left on a 15 day fishing trip on May 13th - J for work and Mamaw for fun and fishing. 

It has been a super long week already...after having J home for a few months and now gone has been a hard thing to get used to. 

I have nobody to give me a break in the evenings, or mornings...I get Sage, myself, and the dogs ready for the day in the mornings..we have a routine down pretty good, so that makes it easier...then it is off to the baby sitter to drop her off and hard to leave her...then the dreaded drive to work....and then work begins...some days good and some days ok...then it't the dreaded drive back home...only there is a sweet baby girl waiting for me to pick her up, which makes that drive not so dreaded...only that it takes too long to get back to her....then our evenings start, almost like our mornings, only we are getting ready for bed and not the day.  

Seeing this face every morning and every night makes my days so great!

I give props to all of those single parents out there....doing it for just a few weeks at a time is so much work but yet so rewarding...and those that do it day in and day out, are stronger than anyone I know! 

J and I hit a milestone as well....We had our 1st Wedding Anniversary, but celebrated apart - we are making up for it this weekend by going away for a few days to Palm Springs...neither one of us has been and now the 3 of us are going, we are so excited to get away. 

He did send me these flowers, so I had something beautiful to enjoy with him being gone. 

He is such a great guy!

I miss Mamaw Jan so much as well...she and I have daily chats via email and we haven't had that in over a week!! Looks like she has been having a great time fishing though, so that makes us feel good. We are looking forward to having her home. 

Miss Sage is sleeping, which means me and the pups should be too....
